Jehuniko - Thunder I (Album Review)

Artist: Jehuniko

Album: Thunder I

Label: Independent (2017)

Producer: Others

California's Jehuniko is no stranger to the game, he has shared the stage and did collabs with an array of top prominent artists. With countless projects including the Bittersweet volumes, Jehuniko still becomes consistent with his music. Jehuniko touches on different subject matters that listeners can relate to from domestic violence to the struggles of being a single parent. Jehuniko delivers to the listeners with his new album "Thunder"

Jehuinko hasn't changed his focus on this album. The album starts off with a party style bounce track Confidence as Jehuniko amps his energy while spitting the fast lyrical flow. Jehuniko stays on message on tracks like Gentlemen Savage and Bulletproof Love. As the album progresses, Jehuniko's mood changes with tracks like Love Is Blind where Jeh expresses about domestic violence and his first offering A Letter in which the song is dedicated to his mother and his daughter expressing a parent's duty to take care of their children. Jehuniko brings on the aggression on Tiger's Blood and Warrior Up 2 while I Saw Myself Die Twice expreses his struggle.

Overall, "Thunder" is a great project for the listeners. The production on "Thunder" matches Jehuniko's uniqueness. This album evokes a lot of emotions as Jehuniko delivers while picking the right production for his style. As consistent as Bittersweet Volumes 1 and 2, Jehuniko is not afraid to be different which is missing in today's hip hop standards. This project centers around the formula of if it's not broken, don't fix it. The maturity level on this album may discourage the trap listener but if you're a fan of substance and willing to think, this project is for you. We will hear a lot from Jehuniko.
