D/troit - Soul Sound System (Album Review)

Bringing a new eclectic sound seems foreign to a person's ear. Musicians put their energy into their craft and present it to the world. Today's contemporary music is no different as Denmark's alternative group D/troit brings a funky sound that motivate listeners. Live instrumentation constructs D/troit bringing a funky sound to the masses as they introduce the listeners with their full length album "Soul Sound System"

D/troit's message is geared on elevating the people speaking on an array of interesting subject matter. The title track "Soul Sound System" reminiscence a revolutionary 1960 ish woodstock flow that brings a peaceful protest. "Roll With the Punches" amplifies the momentum with musical precision as they expressed themselves on the bouncy guitar feel beat. The group tickles listeners psychologically with "Freedom Is Not For Free". The messages on each track signifies peace with a little revolutionary vibe to it.

Different emotions pull listeners to D/troit's world. "Lay It On Me" exemplifies thought provoking issues on life while "A Little Kindess" elicits sadness over somber production. "People Need People" centers togetherness over the hard bass production. The lead single "Do Your Thing" is an encouragement track with a colorful Elvis Presley element of doing what you want despite criticism and doubt.

Soul Sound System looks through the lens on how society is constructed. This album gears toward the themes of freedom and change. The impressive part is D/troit created their own formula that works on this album from start to finish. The instruments on the album have a trendsetting sound that places the lyrics together like a perfect jigsaw puzzle. D/troit's alternative sound compounded with a Marvin Gaye/James Brown soul type of energy will reach listeners and bring harmony to their ears. D/troit carries an eccentric vibe that's nostalgic that centers on power to the people.
