Pull the Fuckin' Trigger - Until It's My Time To Die (Album Review)

Pull the Fuckin' Trigger is a group comprises of emcees Danny Darko and Appollo Valdez with producer making hits after hits. They stick with the boom bap formula that makes the essence of hip hop. Pull the Fuckin' Trigger introduces us with their full length album "Until It's My Time To Die".

The three man trio introduces this album with hardcore lyrics mixed with strong underground boom bap beats and basslines. Sutter Kain who produced majority of the album goes in lyrically on tracks like "Cocaine Rap" and the title track. The title track gets straight to the point with lyrics such as: Money comes, money goes/real nigga shit, fuck hoes. Appollo Valdez and Danny Darko share the lyrical precision on "Night Vision", "Power" and "New Jersey Drive Part 3".

The guest appearances blend well on this project. Tracks like "Slums" and "Street Poems" featuring Sabowtaj reminsce the stories of living in the PJ's while Taino Knight adds flavor on his production in "Trigger Music" and spits lyrically on "Knights of Doom" and "Pull the Fuckin Trigger". "Bloody Snow" featuring Rhytm Writters brings out the 90's style music current with dope scratches in the chorus. The group speeds up their lyrically cadence with the assist of Mike Sanders on the Malachi the Great produced "Everyday Struggles 2". The group brings out the posse cuts such as "2004" and the final track "Street Tales".

The twenty track project keeps heads attentive to their underground style. Some listeners will suffer from listeners fatigue with excessive guest appearances and tracks. This is a minor misstep that doesn't deter the quality of the album. The beats on the album best fits the lyrical flow of the group. Until It's My Time To Die is the album surface around the formula of if it's not broken, don't fix it. Hip Hop fans will hear more from the trio bringing bars back to the art form.
