The Inked Awards is my favorite part of Exxxotica weekend in Edison. I tell all my friends you should come to the Inked Awards and the number one response is always what’s that? The ones that do end up coming with me though love the experience and have been back every year since. If you didn’t know the Inked Awards is an award show put on by Inked Angels and features mainly models who are into tattoo’s or piercings and cool things like that. I’ve spoken to many girls who told me they would love to check it out but would feel out of place because they might not fit in. Everyone fits in though because it’s such a welcoming and fun event to attend. It’s small, intimate, and the price of admission gets you an open bar and a buffet full of actual food, not what you would expect from an event that provides free food with your ticket. It’s a perfect way to spend a few hours on a Saturday night.
Rather than a traditional red carpet, the Inked Awards uses a purple carpet where all the nominees and their guest line up to have their photos taken. It’s also where the winners come out after they’ve won and pose for pictures with their award. This year’s award show was hosted by the legendary Joanna Angel and Small Hands who have been a staple of the awards ceremony since its inception and represent perfectly what the Inked Awards is about. It’s a family affair and there were a mix of familiar and new faces that attended the ceremony. Some of the names in attendance were Draven Star, Johnny Goodluck, Romi Rain, Mallory Maneater and Kimmie Kaboom. After the carpet ceremony, there was the pre show reception where guest mingled and took advantage of the open bar while everyone waited for the show to begin.
Before the show started officially, guest were warmed up by a comedy act from comedian Dan Frigolette who had a mix of normal jokes and a few catered to this audience full of porn stars and their fans. After that it was time for the show to open properly and for our host to come out and welcome everyone to the event. Some of the winners of the night were Chrissy Leblanc for Best Tits who also won the year prior, Ava Minx for Best Ink and Sheridan Love for Best Oral. There were some performers who couldn’t make it to the show that ended up winning but overall it was a great night.
